Two trains were delayed by nearly an hour after a car remained stuck on the railway track after its tyre got punctured on Sunday around 4 p.m.According to the police, M.S. Bedi, who works at Mallappally, was approaching the railway crossing at Mooledom. The speeding car jumped on a hump before the crossing and hit a post nearby. The car landed on the railway track and remained stuck. The tyre also punctured.Local people attempted to shift the car. They were joined in the effort by the Chingavanam police and the Kottayam Railway police. The car was moved after nearly an hour. Meanwhile, two train services, Jan Shatabdi Express and Ernakulam-Kollam MEMU, were held up at Chingavanam and Kottayam Railway stations due to the incident. According to the police, Mr. Bedi was found to be drunk.
