NAGPUR: Railway police's bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS) was pressed into action after a hoax caller raised a false alarm at city police's control room on Sunday evening. The caller, making a call from a cell phone, claimed that a bomb had been planted on a train scheduled at 8.40pm.Apart from the call, the address of the SIM card had left the cops intrigued when it came to fore that the buyer had furnished the information that he resided at the regional police training school at Laxmi Nagar. The address is now being verified. Police said the caller switched off the cell phone later.Following the false alert, Mumbai-bound trains like Duronto Express and Sewagram express were checked but nothing was found. Due to the ongoing issue of riots in the Muslims' protest rally in Mumbai over ethnic clash in Assam, city and railway security agencies are already on high alert. |
