Jamshedpur : The state BJP today accused the Centre of adopting a step-motherly attitude towards Jharkhand, with party spokesperson Amarpreet Singh Kale pointing finger at lack of funds. "Even after two years of the panchayat polls, the state is deprived of central funds to the tune of Rs 5,000 crore. This is unfortunate. Moreover, the Centre has always ignored the state when it comes to the railway sector," said Kale. Kale argued that due to constant pressure by chief minister Arjun Munda, the Centre recently granted Rs 25 crore to the thriving tussar silk industry. He added the state has fixed a sale target of Rs 15,000 crore for tussar silk products this financial year. The tussar silk industry employs about 2.25 lakh people. Expressing satisfaction over the functioning of the Munda-led government, he said, "The government is doing a good job that is reflected in its work. Jharkhand has attained an overall growth of 12.08 per cent. It has excelled in sectors like agriculture and fishery." |
