The Bangalore- Bangarpet Mulitiple Electrified Unit (MEMU) train and the Bangarpet- Krishnarajpuram MEMU train have been extended to Marikuppam, according to a press release from the Railways.Minister of State for Railways K.H. Muniyappa flagged off the Bangarpet- Krishnarajpuram MEMU train at Oorgaum station on Saturday. The electrification of Bangarpet- Marikuppam section was also begun. The Bangalore- Marikuppam MEMU train will depart from Bangalore City at 2.55 p.m. (except on Sundays) and arrive at Marikuppam at 5.05 p.m. the same day. In the return direction, Marikuppam- Krishnarajapuram MEMU train will depart from Marikuppam at 5.20 p.m. (except on Sundays), and arrive at Krishnarajapuram at 7.10 p.m. the same day. Timings of Bangarpet- Marikuppam- Bangarpet Diesel Multiple Unit trains was revised from Saturday. Bangarpet- Marikuppam DEMU will depart from Bangarpet at 5.45 p.m. instead of 4.30 p.m. and arrive at Marikuppam at 6.20 p.m. instead of 5 p.m. Marikuppam- Bangarepet DEMU will depart from Marikuppam at 6.30 p.m. instead of 5.10 p.m. and arrive at Bangarpet at 7.05 p.m. instead of 5.40 p.m.
