The state government on Friday released its share of Rs 40 crore for the year 2012-2013 towards the construction of new broad gauge line between Rayadurg to Tumkur via Kalyandurg, Ambadur, Pavagada and Madakasira. The broad guage is 312 kilometres long stretch and is estimated to cost Rs 1,050 crore. The foundation stone was laid by then railway minister Mukul Roy and chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in March 2012. The railway department has identified new line between Rayadurg to Tumkur (Karnataka) as viable for revenue generation because the Ananthapur district particularly Rayadurg, Kalyanadurg, Pavagada, Ambadur and other areas are famous for cultivating vegetables and bananas RTC Spl Buses for Dasara from Oct 12 HYDERABAD: The APSRTC will run 3,517 special buses from October 12 to 26 for Dasara and Bakrid festivals. Majority of the special buses will be operated to Vijayawada, Amalapuram, Rajahmundry, Guntur, Tenali, Gudivada, Nellore, Kurnool, Nizambad, Karimnagar and Bangalore. About three lakh people are expected to leave for various places from the twin cities during the festival season. Greater Hyderabad RTC executive director A Koteswara Rao said some of the buses will start from different places in the twin cities without touching MGBS and Jubilee bus station. On Oct 19 and 20, when the passenger rush is expected to peak, all the regular and special buses, other than inter-state services, will operate from different points in the city. Rao appealed to the passengers to reserve their tickets through online booking at the MGBS, JBS and Dilsuknagar bus stations and all 288 authorised ticket booking agents. Tirupati-Gudur Train cancelled On account of track maintenance works in the Tirupati- Renigunta-Gudur section, the following trains will be cancelled for 20 days from October 8 to 27: Train no. 57412 Gudur-Tirupati Passenger leaving Gudur at 10.55 hours and train no. 57411 Tirupati-Gudur Passenger leaving Tirupati at 13.45 hours. |
