New Railway Minister Piyush Goyal announced that within a year all unmanned crossings will be removed. At present there are about 5000 unmanned level crossings that accounts for nearly 35 percent train accident. To remove all these unmanned crossings railway initially set target of three years which Piyush Goyal has cut down to one year. Besides emphasising on new technology to improve safety of trains, rail minister has presented the idea of floating global tenders for laying new tracks. Rail Tel has already improved communication with Rail Network by establishing a much improved fibre optic network and now it is working on improvement of rail infrastructures to provide efficient exchange of information and uninterrupted communication. |
