The allocation of Rs. 50 crore for the Visakhapatnam-Bheemunipatnam beach corridor development project are likely to be received by month end, Union Minister of State for HRD D. Purandeswari informed on Sunday.She had reviewed the tourism projects in the Visakhapatnam Parliamentary constituency she represents, with Special Chief Secretary to the Tourism Ministry Chandana Khan and other officials and consultants in Hyderabad on Saturday.Ms. Purandeswari would meet the officials of Railway Ministry on August 23 to discuss the need to introduce a tourist train from here to Araku valley in which the State government officials would also participate, according to a press note.She would also take up with the Ministry of Shipping the construction of a jetty for facilitating sea cruise to Sri Lanka.Other proposed projects under PPP mode discussed during the meeting were Rs. 300-crore tourism park at Madhurawada, a Rs. 200-crore international convention centre at Mudasarlova on a 20-acre site belonging to GVMC, a traditional health city Arogyadham costing Rs. 50 crore on a 50-acre site at Thotlakonda and a Rs. 100-crore theme park (Wonder of the World) on a 70-acre site at Yendada.The Union Minister was planning to conduct a review meeting every month with the departments concerned. |
