Srinagar: Abdul Qayoom Manhas today took over as Inspector General of Police, Railways, Jammu and Kashmir in Srinagar. The IGP immediately presided over a meeting with SSP Railway Kashmir and other officers of Railways. In his address to the officers he said that the men on ground should remain alert and should undertake all possible measures to ensure safe and risk free traveling of common people in the trains. The IGP added that all necessary steps should be taken to ensure Rail track security and smooth conduct of forthcoming religious and national functions viz-a-viz Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatra and Independence day 2012. The IGP also visited various offices and interacted with the incharge branches of Railway headquarters | ||
