Northern Railway carried out a two month long drive against touting activity & ticketless travelers. During the checks carried out from 01.03.2012 to 30.04.2012 at Reservation Offices in Delhi Area 141 touts were apprehended and 58 persons were detected for travelling on tickets reserved in fictitious names. Besides, 26 unauthorized vendors were also held for dealing in Catering at the station premises.The Joint team of Vigilance, Commercial and Security Departments (Railway Protection Force) also apprehended 41 touts during the current month (April 2012). An amount of Rs. 28240/- was realized as fine during the check. All those who indulged in the aforesaid unlawful activity were apprehended under various sections of Railways Act. | ||
