As per the current rule if you are a senior citizen i.e. age more than 60 years of age, and considering traveling from Indian Railways, you can avail 50% discount on base fare if you are female and 40% on base fare if you are male. This discount can be availed by any senior citizen irrespective of destination or type of coach. Railway is considering a new option of scraping such discounts if being a senior citizen you are traveling with your family. However, a condition is kept that if elderly and family members take separate tickets in different coaches of the same train they still can avail discount. | ||
