From next month, even your platform ticket will cost more. The railway ministry has decided to hike the rate of platform tickets to Rs. 5 from May1. "The railway board has informed all the railways to charge Rs. 5 instead of Rs. 3 for platform ticket," said a senior official from

Central Railway. "The change will come into affect from from the beginning of the next month," the official added.

Earlier this month, the railways had hiked the passenger ticket fare and cost of first-class season tickets.
