Noida/Ghaziabad : The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Tuesday submitted detailed project reports to both the Noida Authority and the Ghaziabad Development Authority, with plans for extension of the Metro service. Both Noida and Ghaziabad are to have six additional Metro stations, according to the detailed project reports.As per the plan for Noida, the proposed 6.5-kilometre elevated line will be constructed from City Centre to Sector 62. According to officials, the project has an estimated cost of Rs 1,800 crore, and should be completed by 2016.C B Singh, Deputy CEO of the Noida Authority, said, “The Authority is studying the project report and a memorandum of understanding will be signed between the two parties after we make our observations on the report. This will help solve the problem of traffic congestion on NH 24.”As per the DMRC’s plan in Ghaziabad, the existing Metro line will be extended by 7.31 kilometres towards Arthala, at an estimated cost of Rs 815 crore. The line will have six new stations and will ease traffic in areas near the Hindon area such as Sahibabad and Rajendra Nagar. |
