Work on the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) project along the Nagole-Mettuguda stretch has been accelerated to make up for the initial delay of about six months in beginning the work.The contractor, L&T, has stepped up the pace of work to ensure that the maximum number of pillars is erected before the onset of the monsoon in June. As part of this, works on the Uppal and Miyapur depots, Uppal precast yard and pier (pillar) foundation work of stage-I on the Nagole-Mettuguda stretch of eight kilometres have been put on the fast track.“The construction strategy is to complete as many foundations as possible of the 305 foundations along the Nagole-Mettuguda stretch before the monsoon,” said Mr N.V.S. Reddy, managing director, HMR.Chief secretary Pankaj Dwivedi has convened a meeting of the special task force on HMR consisting of senior IAS officers and heads of all the connected departments and L&TMRHL managing director, on April 25, to review the progress of the work. The ground preparatory works on the recently handed over Miyapur depot land (104 acres) is going on at a brisk pace. |
