ALLAHABAD: Managing director of the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) RK Gupta inspected the progress of construction work of the 343 km double-line track in Kanpur-Khurja section of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor, recently. During his inspection, he reviewed the status and directed the officials to take up the activities in parallel order so as to achieve the targets in the scheduled time frame.

RK Gupta was accompanied by the director, PP Anshuman Sharma, director operations H D Gujrati and other top officials of the DFCCIL.

Gupta also advised the project authorities to ask the civil administration for their help and assistance in getting possession of the acquired land and structures from the land owners as all the compensations has been paid to the project affected people. The clearances for tree cutting, environment etc have been already obtained for the project.

The preparatory work has begun on the section and the topographic survey has been completed for the substantial length. Geo-technical investigation for bridges and clearance of the site is in progress while alignment and demarcation has been finalised. R K Gupta MD, DFCCIL advised contractors to accord top priority to shifting of utilities and structures within the right of way, to pave way for smooth execution of the civil works. Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation India Limited awarded its first major contract for the construction of the double line track to M/s TATA ALDESA JV, on design build basis, in March 2013. The project spread over a length of 343 kms between Kanpur and Khurja stations will be completed within 4 years and is expected to bring a spurt in economic activities of the state.
