The explosives that were found at a railway under bridge (RUB) at Tellapur in Medak district on Saturday were manufactured at a factory located in Chityal of Nalgonda district. A five-member team led by Nampally Railway CI Venugopal visited Chityal and ascertained the facts. The railway police are trying to find out where the leak took place in the chain of manufacturing. It is mandatory on the part of manufacturers and subcontractors to maintain a register regarding sale of the product and noting the details of purchasers. These stocks and records have to be checked by the police and the revenue department officials once three months so as to arrest the explosives falling in the hands of anti-social elements. The investigating officials are not sure on checks were conducted by both these departments and it would be known only after the investigations are complete. The sources claimed that the police have already zeroed in on some persons. However, the officials are not yet ready to come out with details as they are of the opinion that it would hamper further investigations. “We had already sent a team to Nalgonda. It was confirmed that these explosives were manufactured at a factory in Chityal,” SP (Railway) B.L. Kantha Rao informed The Hindu . |
