Indore: The woes of passengers travelling by Indore-Patna bi-weekly train were highlight by Uttar Bharatiya Sangh who held a demonstration recently demanding that the train be run on all days of the week.At present, the train runs only two days a week due to which there is a long waiting list that has even crossed 1000 mark in recent days. The railways had to even deploy Government Railway Police to ensure that passengers boarded the trains in the orderly manner.“Despite having confirmed reservations, commuters have to suffer agony during journey due to heavy rush. Railway authorities should ply special trains like holiday express on sectors having heavy traffic,” Sangh president Anup Shukla said.A letter was also written by Member of Parliament Sumitra Mahajan to western railway general manager Mahesh Kumar and chief passenger traffic manager RD Tripathy in which she demanded that special trains for Indore-Patna and Pune-Madgaon be started .Ratlam rail division authorities on Saturday communicated that they would consider taking up temporary measures like increasing coaches in the train. |
