South Central Railway has undertaken the beautification of Rail Nilayam, the magnificent Head Quarters Building of the Zone located in Secunderabad. In this connection, the Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd (HMRL) came forward to beautify the frontage of the building as part of its initiative to beautify the city. Shri N.V.S.Reddy, Managing Director, HMRL formally handed over the developed frontage of Rail Nilayam to Shri G.N.Asthana, General Manager, South Central Railway at a function held today i.e., 30th January 2013. A host of Senior Officials of SCR and HMRL were present. Addressing the media o­n the occasion, Shri G.N. Asthana detailed the beautification works of Rail Nilayam and stated that the building has underwent a change in its looks, commencing with the fresh coat of Green Color, which now graces this landmark building in Secunderabad area. Added to the same, the entire area of Rail Nilayam has been developed with enhanced and well-planned green areas, parking lots and other facilities. The General Manager was highly appreciative of HMRL for coming forward to beautify the frontage area of Rail Nilayam facing the road with well-landscaped lawns, pathways and greenery. He added that the entire ambience of Rail Nilayam has become very attractive and expressed confidence that the road stretch facing Rail Nilayam is sure to become more beautiful in coming months.
Shri N.V.S.Reddy, spoke o­n the plans of HMRL, which is under taking the Metro Rail Project in Hyderabad city. He said that HMRL will go beyond in its commitment to the people of Hyderabad by under taking various initiatives towards making the city more beautiful and attractive. He praised SCR for its pro-active approach in giving prompt clearances to HMRL for the crossings o­n the Railway network in the city at eight different places. This has made the task of HMRL easy in moving ahead with the project. He also stated that HMRL will develop several green covers at various other places in the twin cities.
