Representatives from Opposition parties on Monday submitted a memorandum to the District Collector to stop Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited from investing huge amounts in Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.CPI(M) city secretary B. Ganga Rao said the memorandum addressed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh sought a direction to the Ministry of Steel not to set up rail wheel plant at Rae Bareily at a cost of Rs.1,000 crore and rail axle plant at Jalpaiguri by investing Rs.278 crore.RINL has already signed MoUs with the Railways to invest in these projects.The memorandum sought the agreements scrapped and locating the projects in Visakhapatnam. | ||
