Once again a tense situation prevailed at the Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station with the passengers registering their protest against cancelling the air-conditioned coaches and replacing them with sleeper coaches.The Thiruvananthapuram - Mumbai Netravati Express, which was supposed to start from Thiruvananthapuram, was delayed when the passengers refused to board the sleeper class coaches. The passengers pointed out that they had booked the tickets for the air-conditioned coaches and when the rake was brought to the platform the coach number which was mentioned in the ticket was a sleeper coach.Those who had booked the tickets on the Second AC coach were given Third AC facility. Passengers of two Third AC coaches were given sleeper coaches.Some of the passengers did not board the train as the facility in the ticket was not provided to them. Later, Railway officials intervened and allowed them to travel in the Chennai Mail. The passengers of the Jan Shatabdi Express to Kozhikode in the afternoon also had the same fate. Those who had booked tickets in AC coaches were forced to travel in ordinary class. | ||
