MUMBAI: Gutka worth Rs 7.6 lakh was recovered from a long-distance train at Bandra Terminus by the railway police's crime branch early on Friday. Officers acted on a tip-off and recovered the consignment from the brake van of Dehradun Express. The train arrived at platform 2 of Bandra Terminus.No arrests have been made."In most cases, the accused use a fake name and address on gutka consignments. After it is offloaded in Mumbai, they get it collected," an official said. In a similar raid, last month, on Pawan Express at Lokmanya Tilak terminus, the police recovered gutka worth Rs 13 lakh. On January 28, 34 cartons of gutkha, worth Rs 13 lakh, was recovered from the Pawan Express at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus by the railway police's crime branch. No arrests were made even then.
