KANPUR: The cold wave and the icy winds plunged the mercury mark, which was recorded nearly 10 degrees below normal on Thursday.The bone chilling cold and icy winds left people shivering with the maximum temperature dipping to 12.8 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature observed a slight dip and set at 3.8 degrees.However, a brief spell of sunshine brought relief but the fog cover engulfed the city in the evening.The cold winds and the dense fog hit rail, road and air traffic for the 12{+t}{+h} day on Thursday.The cold and foggy conditions also disturbed the normal life, as people confined themselves indoors viewing the bad weather.The weatherman predicted that no significant changes in the weather conditions are expected till the weekend.The met experts said that the fog is expected on Friday, which would lead to drop in maximum temperatures. Night temperature may fall by a couple of degrees during the next 24 hours.The maximum temperature may fluctuate, depending on the density of the fog cover and sunshine.
