Flights remained grounded and trains were delayed as fog engulfed the city on Monday. The cold wave continued with the day temperature being nine degrees below normal.No flights to and from the Chandigarh Airport were operational. Over the past one week, flights have been cancelled a number of times due to low visibility. This is causing harassment to hundreds of passengers who are left with no options.The visibility remained less than a kilometre that was not sufficient for the flights to land and take off. Flight operations have been suffering due to the weather conditions with airlines complaining of facing huge losses. The Instruments Landing System at the airport has not helped much. There is uncertainty on flights for Tuesday as well.A few trains were also delayed due to the fog. Kalka-Howrah train was seven hours late. The Sadhbhavna Express was late by three hours. The morning Shatabdi from Delhi to Chandigarh was delayed by 20 minutes.
