JAIPUR: Cold wave conditions intensified across the state on Saturday, especially in the border districts. Many stations registered a dip of 4-6 degrees in both day and night temperatures. Sriganganagar in plains while Mount Abu in the hills were coldest recording a low of 1.6 and 3.4 degrees Celsius, respectively, the Met report said.City witnessed dense fog in the morning hours and mist continued to affect normal life. Foggy conditions in the neighbouring Uttar Pradesh and Delhi also affected the air, road and rail traffic in the city.At least half-a-dozen early morning Jaipur-bound flights from Delhi landed late. Likewise, almost a dozen trains including Puja Express, Shatabdi express, Aashram Express, Malini Express and Howarh-Jodhpur express arrived late. Agra-bound buses were delayed as poor visibility at the Jaipur-Agra highway made vehicle movement chaotic.Due to the continuous changes in the train timings, gigantic rush of the passengers was seen at Jaipur, Durgapura and Gandhinagar railway stations.Jaisalmer recorded a low of 4.4 degrees Celsius, Bikaner 5.7, Barmer 5.9, Pilani 6.7, Udaipur 8.0, Chittorgarh 8.4 and Kota recorded a minimum temperature of 9.4 degrees Celsius.Met has forecasted cold wave conditions will persist in the state for the next 24 hours. | ||
