A release issued by the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), South Western Railway, said that of the 55 passengers injured in the accident, ten have suffered grievous injuries and of them four are undergoing treatment at Railway Hospital and three at Apollo Hospital in Bangalore. Two persons have been admitted to Hindupur Government Hospital and Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital, Puttaparthi and one at Penukonda Government Hospital. Of the remaining injured who have sustained minor injuries, 35 are at Hindupur Government Hospital, six at Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital and four are at Penukonda Government Hospital.Out of the 25 victims who died, the identity of 12 have been ascertained. They are Rudrappa (35), his wife Hemavathi Rudrappa (33), daughter Pavani Bai (10) and son Mukkanna (8) of Siriguppa, Kanchanaguda Thanda, Bellary district; Lakshmamma Vanaappa (35) and Mallesappa Vanappa (15) of Nadugurhi village, Bellary district; Lakshmana Hanumanthu (16) of Basavapura village, Koppal district; Madanappa (45) of Kunaganhalli village, Gadag district; Satyanarayana Murthy (56) of Koluru village, Koppal district; Thimmappa Nagabhushana (35) of Gudur village, Gangavahi taluk, Koppal district; Venkatesh Naik (33) of Chichanakunda Thanda, Koppal district; Venkatesh (35), Thiruthikota Thanda, Gangavathi taluk, Koppal district. |
