Two Railway Protection Force (RPF) Inspectors attached to South Central Railway (SCR) has bagged the Indian Police Medal-2012 on the eve of Independence Day tomorrow. An SCR release here today said B Satish Prabhu, Inspector, Special Intelligence Branch and M Janardhan Chowdary, Inspector, Kacheguda Railway Station, were awarded with Indian Police Medal in appreciation of their meritorious service. Mr Prabhu played an important role in detection of the Gautami Express Sabotage case in 1995 and while on deputation with CBI he took up many high profile cases including the Passport Forgery case of Abu Salem and Monika Bedi. In his previous years of service, he was awarded two GM Awards and DG's insignia. Mr Chowdary, while working at Anantapur as Inspector, he busted the gang of ten drugging offenders in Karnataka Express. Further, while working at Tirupati, he was responsible in rescuing many run away children and handing over them to their parents and destitute homes and also arrested about 1200 touts and thereby the malpractice of Railway tickets was controlled. Being Inspector/Kadapa Post, he proved his mettle by nabbing notorious gangs involved in theft of bridge channels and their purchasers. |
