Polite uniformed staff, trolley service and on board entertainment are soon going to be a part of journey on Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express of Indian Railways. From October this year these are some of the changes which will be introduced to enhance the travel experience of passengers under operation Swarn by railways. A complete make over has been taken by Indian Railways in 30 trains which includes 15 Rajdhani and 15 Shatabdi trains. The total estimated cost is set for this makeover is said to be approximately 25 crore rupees. Besides increasing various amenities offered on-board railway will also refurbish interiors and improve cleanliness in coaches and special toilets. On a consistent basis railway receives complain regarding punctuality and cleanliness in these trains. Quality of linen provided to passengers also marks many of such complaints. Under this project, security of these trains will be boosted by strengthening security system. Shatabdi trains of Howrah-Puri, New Delhi-Chandigarh, New Delhi-Kanpur, Howrah-Ranchi, Anand Vihar-Kathgodam are among the 15 trains selected for the makeover exercise. Rajdhani Express meant for Mumbai, Howrah, Patna, Ranchi and Bhubaneswar are among the 15 Rajdhani trains selected for service upgradation. |
