The Commercial branch of Guntur Division of South Central Railway organized a Customer Meet in the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM)’s office here on Thursday.

It was presided by DRM Mr. N.K. Prasad and attended by important freight customers like Deccan Cements, Parasakthi Cements and Jindal Cements situated in Guntur, Nalgonda and Kurnool districts besides branch officers and commercial inspectors from the Railway Division. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Mr. M. Syama Sundar Rao welcomed the guests.

Mr. Prasad said that the Railways have set higher goods transportation targets and efforts were being made to achieve them. Freight earnings contribute a large portion of earnings of Guntur Division he said and requested traders to offer more traffic to railways for mutual benefit.

The traders requested the Railway administration to improve infrastructure facilities at loading/unloading points of goods sheds for the convenience of their activity.

In his response, the DRM said that facilities will be provided on the basis of earnings generated from that particular unit and promised to put advanced technology like solar energy in use to improve lighting at goods sheds.

Additional DRM Mr. Chandrasekhara Rao, Senior Divisional Operations Manager Mr. Ratnakara Rao, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer Satyanarayana were present.
