The All India Railwaymen Federation (AIRF) and associated sub-unions have started preparations for a massive strike across the country in October this year. The strike is in support of over 38 demands that the Federation has been making since the last year. Their demands include better pay packages for track men, cadre restructuring, clearance of arrears and scrapping of the new pension scheme, according to A M D’Cruz, General Secretary of the South Western Railway Mazdoor Union (SWRMU) in a press release. | ||
