NELLORE: Passengers of Chennai-Vijayawada Jana Shatabdi Express (12077) had a providential escape on Saturday when the train was stopped just before it could pass over a broken rail near Nellore station. Trackmen noticed the break in the rail near south Nellore station during their inspection and immediately alerted the senior engineering officials. By the time the damaged track was noticed, the train had reached Nellore station and was about to leave. Luckily, the officials asked the station manager to put the train on halt till the track was repaired. Track engineering officials rushed to the spot and repaired the damaged portion. The train was stopped for about 30 minutes before the engineering officials gave a green signal. The passengers, however, were unaware of the damaged track till the train chugged ahead. | ||
