The engine of Kakinada-bound Seshadri Express (Train No.17209) got derailed at the Vijayawada Railway Station in the wee hours of Wednesday.All the passengers in the train are safe and the train was sent to its destination a few hours behind schedule. The reason for the derailment is being probed, said the South Central Railway authorities.The incident happened at around 2.40 a.m. near Parcel Office, when the train coming from Bangalore was entering the station. The railway officials rushed to the spot and monitored the situation. With only engine derailing, there was no damage done to the passenger bogies.Following the derailment, the SCR officials cancelled Vijayawada-Guntur Passenger Train No.77221 that was scheduled to leave Vijayawada station at 6.15 a.m.The workers took up repairs and restored the damaged tracks. Except for one passenger train, no other train was diverted or cancelled. All trains were running as per schedule, said the officials.
