ALLAHABAD: Pension is the right of every retired employee and pensioners should unite to fight for their rights, said general secretary of Avkash Prapt Railway Karamchari Hitkari Samiti Kishan Singh while presiding over the monthly meeting of the committee on Tuesday. The meeting was held at the office of North Central Railway Mens' Union in Civil Lines.He said many pensioners are not aware about the benefits accruing to them and there is need to apprise them on the same.Another speaker Shayam Sunder Singh Patel said demanded reservation of seats for government pensioners in the legislative assemblies, municipal bodies and government boards and committees. He exhorted the retired employees to come forward and work for social service and for the development of the country.President of the committee Ramnath Shavasvar said in the old age, retired employees have to grapple with various problems. At times, the banks do not even give payment details slip to the pensioners.However, there are RBI guidelines that retired employees should be given the payment details slip. He said the Samiti is seeking payment details slips for retired employees from the banks.
