Delhi Metro fares are likely to increase as a committee constituted by the central government is expected to make its recommendation on this in the next five months, an official said Thursday. "The fare fixation committee has been appointed by the urban development ministry. The committee will take time to conduct a detailed study. It is likely to come out with a report in four to five months," said Delhi Metro Managing Director Mangu Singh. Delhi Metro last increased its fares in November 2009. The minimum fare was increased from Rs.6 to 8 and the maximum from Rs.22 to 30. The Metro daily ferries nearly 1.8 million passengers over 2,700 trips. | ||
