New Delhi: Family says he was depressed over a property dispute. The mutilated body of a sub-inspector was found near the rail tracks in Shahdara in north-east Delhi on Wednesday. Police said they are investigating it from all angles, including suicide.Khajuri Khas resident Rohit Srivastav, 28, was posted with Krishna Nagar police station.“We got a call at the police control room that a body in pieces was found near the railway tracks in Kanti Nagar at 10 pm. He had died on the spot due to excessive bleeding,” a senior police official said.An identity card found in his pocket helped in identifying the body.Police believe he was run over by a train coming from Sonipat. His body has been preserved for a post-mortem at Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital in Dilshad Garden.Though no suicide note was found, police are questioning Rohit’s family, friends and colleagues.“Prima facie, it seems there was no foul play. But we are investigating from both suicide and murder angles,” the official added.Rohit was on medical leave for the last few days. His family members said he was under depression for the last one month due to a property dispute.Rohit, who joined Delhi Police in 2004 and became a sub-inspector in 2008, was posted with Krishna Nagar police station since early 2011. | ||
