ALLAHABAD: To check the activities of touts, North Central Railway has installed internet-based CCTVs at the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) and Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) of the Allahabad Junction. It will also keep vigil on the activities of the reservation clerks.Railway officers can keep a tab on the activities of passengers buying tickets at the PRS and UTS counters from their cabins with the help of CCTVs. They can also monitor the activities of the reservation clerks.These internet-based CCTV cameras have been installed at the PRS counter on the city side of the Allahabad junction. Four cameras have been installed at the PRS counters where reservation clerks sit, three cameras in the large hall of the PRS while one camera has been installed at the inside hall of UTS counters.CPRO NCR Sandeep Mathur said, "The main purpose of the installation of the cameras is to keep vigilant eyes on the suspicious activities of the unwanted elements specially touts. Video footage of about 20 days can be kept through this system.The railway officers concerned can keep a tab on the suspicious activities of the passengers sitting in his official chamber though logging on his computer. They can also take suitable action against the erring persons. The arrangement of internet-based CCTV has already been made at the Moradabad station of NR. tnn
