The Kanyakumari Jilla Consumer Protection Centre (KJCPC) has urged the district administration to provide basic amenities in railway stations, including Kanyakumari, Nagercoil, Eraniel and Kuzutthurai. A resolution to this effect was passed at the executive committee meeting of the KJCPC held here on Wednesday. Passengers travelling recently on the Duronto Express (from Chennai to Thiruvananthapuram) complained of pest infestation on the train, according to the forum . Its members urged the Government to ensure that cleanliness was maintained in the coaches.In addition, the forum sought immediate action by the district administration to seize the rotten fish that was allegedly being sold in the open markets. The forum also wanted the cooking gas consumer grievance day meeting to be convened monthly.
