Keeping in mind last year’s 17 lakh passengers who travelled on the Delhi Metro on “Raksha Bandhan”, the new-age transport system will tackle this year’s rush with 160 extra train trips. Additional customer facilitation agents, extra trains during peak hours and extra personnel are some measures which will be taken by the Delhi Metro to tackle Thursday’s crowds.Trains will be run at peak-hour frequency between 8 a.m. and 8-30 p.m. and more than 20 trains which are normally withdrawn from lines during off-peak hours (12.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.) leading to a total of 2,900 trips on Thursday.Delhi Metro will also deploy more Customer Facilitation Agents (CFA) to help and guide commuters - a total of 182 shifts of CFAs of four hours each have been arranged in 93 metro stations. The prominent stations include Dilshad Garden, Shahdara, Welcome, Seelampur, Shastri Park, Pitampura, Rohini East, Rohini West, Rithala, Jahangirpuri, Adarsh Nagar, GTB Nagar, Yamuna Bank, Uttam Nagar East, Nawada, Noida City Centre, Botanical Garden, Noida Sec-18, MG Road, HUDA City Centre, Sarita Vihar, Lajpat Nagr, Badarpur Peeragarhi, Nangloi, and Mundka.In addition, extra personnel will be deployed to handle the increased load on the ticketing system. The Metro ticketing staff in 93 stations will do 228 additional shifts of four hours each mainly at Dilshad Garden, Shahdara, Welcome, Rohini West, Tilak Nagar, Nawada, Uttam Nagar East, Yamuna Bank, Noida City Centre, Botanical Garden, Noida Sec-18, Moolchand, Govindpuri, Badarpur, Qutab Minar, Malviya Nagar, Saket, HUDA City Centre, Peeragarhi, Nangloi and Mundka. |
