The South Central Railways today cancelled at least 10 trains passing through this zone and rescheduled a few other services due to heavy rains that lashed this region on Monday causing heavy water overflowing.The trains that were cancelled on the Kazipet-Vijayawada section include Vizag-Secunderabad Garibrath Express, Vizag-Secunderabad Duranto Express and passenger trains between Manuguru-Secunderabad, Dornakal-Manuguru, Manuguru-Kazipet, Kazipet-Dornakal and Kazipet-Vijayawada.The railways managed to restore eight services today, including Patna-Bangalore scheduled to leave on September 2, New Delhi-Puducherry (September 2), Chennai-New Delhi GT Express (September 3), Chennai-Ahmedabad Navajeevan Express (September 3), Thiruvananthapuram-Korba Express (September 2) and Guntur-Secunderabad Golconda Express.Railway authorities are closely monitoring the situation and full services will be restored after the water levels receded, an official statement said.The Railways had cancelled more than nine trains yesterday, including Secunderabad-Vizag Garibrath, Secunderabad-Kakinada Gautami, Kakinada-Secunderabad Gautami and Secunderabad-Gudur Simhapuri Express. Hyderabad-Chennai Charminar Express and Secunderabad-Tritupati Express were diverted via Bibinagar yesterday. |
