Title - ‘Vijayawada Railway Division overshoots targets in Hindi’

The Raj Bhasha Diwas (Hindi Day) celebrations at the Vijayawada Railway Divisional headquarters touched a new high with Divisional Railway Manager Preadeep Kumar announcing its achievement in implementation, which was much beyond the targets given to it.

The division has achieved 100 per cent target in translation work. For making notes/analysis the achievement was 49.1 per cent against 30 per cent target.

Disclosing these details at a press conference here on Friday, Mr. Pradeep Kumar said that the basic correspondence in all three levels of letters was 87.5 per cent to 66.9 per cent against a target of 55 per cent.

The division has achieved 100 per cent target in giving replies in Hindi to letters received in Hindi. Similarly, 100 per cent target was achieved in displaying of name boards, sign boards ion Trilingual and bilingual form, he said. The entries in registers/diaries and service registers was 97.6 per cent and 100 per cent respectively. Taking dictation in Hindi could be achieved up to 62.5 per cent while the target is 30 per cent. Some of the proud possessions of the division are 12 libraries with 18,692 books in Hindi, giving reservation charts in Hindi also, making announcement on all stations in Hindi along with Telugu and English. Cash awards were given to two employees — P. Hriday Raj and J. Janikamma — and an officer and four employees will receive General Manager’s individual cash award.
