Title - ‘Make reservation counter at Golden Rock a full-fledged one’

Makkal Sakthi Iyakkam, Tiruchi district, has demanded that the railway reservation counter functioning at Golden Rock, entertaining only railway duty passes and privilege passes at present, be converted into a full-fledged reservation centre for the benefit of commuters.

Such a move would benefit people residing at Golden Rock, Ponmalaipatti, Melakalkandarkottai, Thirunagar, Ambikapuram, and Ex-servicemen Colony, the organisation said in a release.

It has also requested for stoppage of the Mysore-Mayiladuthurai-Mysore Express trains and the Cholan Express at Ponmalai and Tiruverumbur railway stations besides seeking halt of the Mannargudi-Manamadurai passenger train at Manjathidal station.

Restoration of the Rockfort Express to Tiruchi and operation of a new express train via mainline to Thanjavur; creation of an underpass at G-Corner and opening of a medical shop at Tiruchi Junction are its other demands.

A memorandum containing these demands was submitted to Tiruchi MP P.Kumar here recently by the Iyakkam members led by its State advisor K.C.Neelamegam, a press release said.
