The world's oldest surviving steam engine is again ready to haul a heritage train from New Delhi to Rewari, Haryana. This trip will the first in 5 years. "Fairy Queen" attracts lots of attention of steam engine lovers across the globe. The train will run from Delhi Cant station and Rewari on February 11, 2017 for a single day trip. It will begin it s journey from Delhi at 10:30AM in the morning and will reach rewari at 01:00PM in the noon and will start from Rewari at 04:15PM in the evening today it self and will arrive at Delhi Cantt at 06:15PM evening. This steam locomotive was constructed by Kitson, Thompson and Hewitson at Leeds in England in 1855. From England this steam locomotive was shipped to Clacutta in the same year. Those days 5feet 6 inches gauge locomotive was used to haul light mail trains in West Bengal between Howrah and Raniganj. This locomotive was consigned later to serve construction duty in Bihar till 1909. |
