Title - Works to be expedited: DRM

All works pertaining to improving passenger amenities in Madurai railway division would be expedited, Divisional Railway Manager Ajai Kant Rastogi has said.Addressing the 140th meeting of the Madurai Divisional Rail Users’ Consultative Committee here on Tuesday, he said Rs. 11 crore was spent for passenger amenities in 2011-12 and Rs. 7.85 crore this year so far.Dindigul-Palani BG line would be opened for traffic soon and Virudunagar-Manamadurai BG work was nearing completion and it would be opened for traffic next year.Work The demands for new train services and stoppages would be sent to the headquarters for submission to Railway Board, he said.The members unanimously urged for a second line between Chennai and Kanyakumari.
