Title - Western Railway Recovers Rs. 15.34 crore from about 3.94 lakh cases of Ticketless travelling during April, 2018

Western Railway conducted regular checks during April this year. Regular checks caught 3.94 lakh cases of ticketless/irregular travel including unbooked luggage cases, resulting in recovery of Rs. 15.34 crore, which is 26 % more than the corresponding month of last year. 
Besides, 728 beggars and unauthorized hawkers etc. were apprehended, evicted, fined and 141 persons were sent to jail.
200 checks were conducted during the month of April against touts and other anti-social elements by Western Rly’s Commercial department. 
As a result, 230 persons were apprehended; 59 school children above 12 years of age were detected traveling in ladies compartment of suburban trains.
