New Delhi: Delhi University (DU) will send nearly 1,000 of its undergraduate students on an all-expense-paid two-week train trip in July. The students will be sent to landmarks all over the country, ranging from Gandhi’s Sabarmati Ashram near Ahmedabad to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) headquarters in Bangalore, University Vice-Chancellor (V-C) Dr Dinesh Singh said on Monday.
“We are sending a train full of our students, all NSS and NCC members, on a trip in the first two weeks of July. We are renting a train from the Indian Railways for the purpose, which will be called Gyanodaya-University of Delhi,” Dr Singh said. The arrangements for the journey have already been finalised with the Indian Railways, he said.

The students will set off from Delhi with university officials. They will make their first stop at Ahmedabad where they will visit the Sabarmati Ashram and the Gujarat Vidyapith before heading to Mumbai where the...
