Four wagons of a goods train carrying cement bags from Renigunta to Athipattu near Ennore derailed at the yard line in the Arakkonam railway station in the early hours on Sunday.When the train driver heard a big sound, he tried to stop the vehicle, but the wheels of the four wagons had derailed. Railway officials rushed to the spot and delinked the other wagons . Since the accident occurred when the train was on the trackon the yard line, there was no disruption of normal traffic on the other five tracks.However, departure of Arakkonam-Katpadi Passenger and Arakkonam-Bangalore Passenger scheduled to depart at 7.05 a.m. and 8 a.m. respectively was delayed by nearly two hours. | ||
