Title - Wagon derailed at Palghar

On Saturday morning, a wagon of a goods train derailed on entering the main track from a platform in Palghar.This delayed the Up bound trains (towards Mumbai) by an hour. By late afternoon, the problem was taken care of but trains were still running late by a few minutes. Around 5.30am when the 45-wagon goods train was moving towards the main track, the 16th wagon (number ER 52913), got derailed.A maintenance engine was brought in from Valsad. The track was cleared and the wagons were towed to the Kelwe Road station. “It took nearly an hour for traffic to resume. The first Surat-Virar Shuttle which usually arrives in Palghar at around 5.30am, chugged in at 6.15am,” said Sandip Silas, divisional railway manager, Mumbai Division.
