Title - Vadodara railway division initiates measures to control accidents at unmanned crossings

VADODARA: The safety organization of the Vadodara division of Western Railway has started measures to control accidents at unmanned level crossings in the railway division.For this it is identifying safety missions every month for generating safety awareness by mass contact with people.The railway division is organizing seminars, video shows, and distribution of safety pamphlets, nukkad nataks and road shows."During the month of August, seminars were conducted by our division. During this seminars, videos were shown and safety pamphlets were distributed amongst 4812 school children, 257 teachers and staff along with 25 school bus drivers of 11 schools apart from village panchayats and chaupals," divisional railway manager of Vadodara division Naveen Kumar Shukla informed on Tuesday.During the same month, nukkad nataks were also performed at two schools and a village panchayat while 472 road users were approached covering over 16 unmanned level crossings.

In September, 6325 safety pamphlets about precautions to be taken while crossing unmanned level crossings were distributed among 2729 villagers of 33 village panchayats. Another 6861 school children including teachers and staff of 31 schools and 632 road users covering 16 unmanned crossings were approached by a team of senior divisional safety officer and safety counselors of the division.
