Title - Upswing in freight carry by SER

South Eastern Railway carried freight of some 10.37 million tonne in June, 2012, registering a growth of about 7.46 per cent as compared to 9.65 million tonnes freight it carried in the corresponding month last year. The loading of the main commodity was iron ore 5.80 million tonne in June, 2012 as compared to 5.20 million tonne in the corresponding month of last year. Coal loading has also gone up to 2.39 million tonne in the same period as compared to 2.12 million tonne in June, 2011. Rising trend of loading was also noticed in cement, pig iron & finished steel, an SER communique said today.
