It was a major tregedy which was averted after we raised an alarm. Else, the train following us carrying oil tankers would have rammed into our train,'' Harpreet Singh, a resident of Ambala said. The railway authorities, however, outrightly denied any lapse of laxity into the incident. Admitting the incident, the officials attached with the office of Divisional Railway manager (DRM) Zonal Divisional Ambala said that Ambala cantt -Ambala city section is section having an arrangements to allow passage of trains on same tracks in one direction. That is an automatic signaling territory. Drivers of both the trains were at a conscious speed and there was an adequete gap between the two trains. These signals are controlled on board as well. All this is done to ensure safe passage of trains on single section,'' an official spokesman said. |
