Two trains were held up after a person attempted to commit suicide on the railway track near the Kottayam Railway station on Wednesday.The incident occurred at Nagampadom around 9.30 am. A person, identified as Haridas of Erumeli, jumped on the path of a rail engine that was being taken to Ernakulam from the Kottayam railway station.As the engine was moving at a low speed, the loco pilot managed to stop it before hitting the person.However, the person refused to move away from the track despite repeated requests by the loco pilot and the passerby. Finally, the Railway Protection Force personnel forcibly removed him from the track. |
