Title - Two Northeast railway employees awarded for the swift action related to safety

Northeast Frontier Railway General Manger awarded two trackmen of Lumding Division –

For showing alertness and prompt action which helped railway to avert a major accident. Both these railway employees were given citation along with cash.

Yadav and Das were patrolling in night on February 3 between 208/2 to km 213/2 in between Nailalung and Longcholiet stations. They heard sound of opening clips that are used to fasten rails to sleepers around 11:52PM on reaching km 208/4-6.

Four – five miscreants with torch lights in the area asked both Yadav and Das to leave the site immediately and threatened them. Both Yadav and Das instantly went back towards Nailalung and communicate with the Senior Section Engineer who informed the same to control room.

Kamakhya Intercity Express which reached Diphu by that time was immediately controlled at Diphu. Later Senior Section Engineer along with RPF security staff and nine other trackmen started from Diphu for the site in the light engine detached from the said train.

They found that more than 20 Pandrol clips were removed and scattered in the same location. The track was repaired immediately and declared fit at 02:35AM.
